It's the first of the month, which means it's time for an update. Here's what's been going on in my life since last time I updated.
Home, Family and Work
Everything on the home and family front is all good. The boys finally broke up for the summer, but so far because of work, we haven't done anything yet - aside from hanging out with Mum for a couple of hours last week. They're happy enough at home, with their video games though, and I think Mum has plans to take them trampolining this weekend.
Hubby has been very busy working for both Minecraft Mayhem and Game Master's Minecraft section. I think last month, he completed about 20 builds for the two magazines combined!
He's completed all his assignments now, and is enjoying a well-earned break before we go away on holiday ....
Which is now less than two weeks away. I cannot wait. I'm so excited for many reasons; the sea, spending time with Hubby and the boys, unplugging from everything, breaking my diet. I just cannot wait.
Dieting is going well, I recently got under 170 lbs, meaning I've lost about 40lbs since January. Although, I went on the contraceptive injection recently, and that can cause weight gain, so I'm hoping it won't effect things too much.
Saw Mum a couple of times recently - once just the two of us, and then once with Hubby and the boys. She's now back at work after having some health problems the last few months. She's still in pain, and they're still doing tests, but she seems a lot better than she was. It was lovely, as always, spending time with her.
Everything at CQ is still ticking along nicely. They're getting closer to launching their new venture soon, so that's exciting. As I don't have much experience in the things involved in the new venture, not much of my duties will change. I just might have to take on a little more as Nina moves to WK and Wil splits his time between the two. But that's fine with me - it won't be anything different from what I've been doing for the past four years.
Although I don't understand some of the technical aspects of the new venture (which is called WishKnish) some of it's applications for authors, and those self-publishing are really interesting. I'm contemplating joining myself, both as an author and to offer certain publishing services, like book formatting. We will see ...
Back in February I bought some tarot cards with the intention of learning more about tarot, and also about witchcraft. Because I'm a terrible person, I never got around to doing more than cleansing the cards.
But I've been thinking more about witchcraft and my spirituality lately. It's something I really want to devote time to. So I'm going to start researching different practices, and begin my own grimoire of practices I believe in, and can apply in my life.
Most of my resources are from those practising on Tumblr, so if anyone has any other resources, please let me know. Even if I ultimately decide a certain aspect isn't right for me, I'd still like to learn about as much as I can, because knowledge is power, and the more knowledge I have, the better informed my decisions can be.
I think my writing muse has officially packed up and moved away. :( I can't even find the inspiration to continue working on EVERY MOMENT WITH YOU, though I am continuing to edit it, and post new chapters each week, and I have every intention of finishing the story in a timely manner.
Everything else is on hold though. I'm not going to publish Seeking the Truth this October, and I have set aside any ideas of a Christmas story.
The inspiration is just not there, and though I sometimes have vague ideas for stories or rewriting old stories, nothing ever gets further than a couple of hundred words.
I am and I'm not worried about it. I've gone through phases of not writing before, and bounced back, and I also know that forcing it never helps.
I imagine the muse will return when it's good and ready to.
In the meantime, I've been building a shed ton of families and their homes on The Sims 3; including multiple Game of Thrones characters, and Harry Potter characters. I've almost finished the home of Draco, Asteria, Scorpius and Delphinus (original character) Malfoy! lol
I really should take and post pictures of all my Sims creations one day.
I think that's about everything for this month, so I'm off to play Spelunky with Hubby and the boys.
