As it's the beginning of the month (sort of. I started this post on July 1st, but then never finished it, because I'm terrible!) I thought I'd post an update on what's been going on since my last entry.
Family & Kids
Not much to report on the family front. Things are good, aside from a virus doing the rounds. But everyone is on the mend now.
The boys have only got three weeks left at school before they break up for the summer!
Our main plan for the school holidays is going to Weston Supermare for four days. We're staying at the same caravan park that we did last year, as it's only a ten minute ride to the beach/ peer, and there's a fantastic pub restaurant opposite that does amazing food. Apparently, it's been refurbished since last year, when we went, and the bar and children's play area have been upgraded. I'm so excited, and hope the weather is good, so we can go swimming in the sea.
We also want to go and see Spider-man: Homecoming, and are hoping to get a discount because we've seen four other movies this year, and the cinema does some sort of deal where if you save your previous tickets, they give you a reduced rate, I think. I suppose we'll see when we go.
Hopefully we'll have the chance to take a day-trip to Birmingham, too. There's some comics collectables shops Hubby and Oldest want to visit, plus a massive toy shop for Youngest. I wouldn't mind trying Five guys Burgers, too!
Work is ticking along nicely. Things are great since Wil joined the team. Me, him and Nina all get along well, and between the three of us, we're able to keep on top of most marketing duties.
I cannot believe I've been there for four years! I don't know what I imagined when I applied there. I was simply looking for something that allowed me to earn a living, while still having time for writing.
I never imagined it would turn into this full-time position I can see myself happily doing for the rest of my life. I'm so glad I found CQ, and that they were willing to take a chance on my.
Writing has been tough for me recently, and I haven't done much since early June. I just have felt no desire or motivation to write. :(
I've still been posting chapters of EVERY MOMENT WITH YOU, and getting some great feedback. The good thing is, as I've almost finished it, taking a writing break hasn't stopped me from serialising it.
Hubby is also finding time around work (he's freelancing for two different Minecraft magazines, and between the builds and then writing up the instructions, that takes up a lot of time) to go through and edit with me, so that I always have a new chapter ready to go.
Not only is it greatly appreciated, but I love the fact he's so into a romance novel! lol
Other writing isn't really happening - as I mentioned, I've had a severe lack of motivation recently. I've decided not to force myself in terms of the Christmas story I wanted to write. I've learned from experience if something isn't sticking, forcing it won't help. I need to find an idea I'm 100% in love with, because then it'll be more of a case of having to stop myself from writing (to work, eat, etc.) rather than forcing myself into it.
I'm also undecided about publishing Seeking The Truth. It needs some work before sending it to beta readers, but again, no motivation. I think this is a time where I do have to force myself, though, as I'm avoiding it as I don't like revisions. I think I need to pull my finger out my butt ... we'll see...
And that's about it really. Not much else has been going on. Just counting down the days until the summer break, and our holiday. I cannot wait.
So, I'll leave it here for today, and be back next month - when it's only 14 days before we go to Weston!
